The Agricultural Economics Research Centre, University of Delhi was established vide letter D.O. No. F.2-3/52-P.C.III dated 08/02/1954 as a section of the Delhi School of Economics with complete funding from the Ministry of Agriculture (MOA), Government of India (GOI) to carry out research on aspects related to the rural economy and agriculture in India. Since then, the Centre has completed more than 300 policy-oriented studies for the Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India. At present, the Centre is a maintained institution of the University of Delhi under the Ordinance XX-G.
