About Agharkar Research Institute Careers

Agharkar Research Institute (ARI) is an autonomous grant-in-aid research institute of the Department of Science and Technology. It was established in the year 1946. It conducts research activities in animal sciences, microbial sciences, and plant sciences.

ARI was founded by the Maharashtra Association for the Cultivation of Science as MACS Research Insitute and renamed as ARI  in 1992. The ARI accepts consultancy, sponsored research projects, and technology programs from public and private undertakings from Indian and abroad.

The current research development activities pf ARI span across all areas of life sciences spread over six different themes namely Biodiversity & Paleobiology, Bioenergy, Bioprospecting, Developmental Biology, Genetics & Plant Breeding and Nanobioscience.
