IHBAS was established in the year 1993 and formerly known as Hospital for Mental Diseases, Shahdara is a mantal health and neurosciences research institute based in Shahdara, New Delhi. IHBAS service user with mental illness were accomodated in closed cellswithin high hospital walls. IHBAS has three clinical and all other para and allied branches. The institute is an autonomous boby registered under societiesACT 1860, funded jointly by Ministry of Health nd Family welfare, Government of Inida. Government of NCT of Delhi as on autonomous boby, the institute has its Memorandum of Association and Rules and Regulations duly approvd under the societies Act.
