Institute of Liver & Biliary Science (ILBS) is a mono-superspeciality hospital for liver and biliary diseases. It is an autonomous institute under the Societies Registration Act 1860. It was established in the Year 2009. It was located at New Delhi. It has been founded by the Government of the Nation Capital Territory (NCT).
ILBS is a teaching hospital and has been given the status of Deemed Univeristy by the Univeristy Grants Commission (UGC) of India. The foundation stone of ILBS was laid in 2003. The first phase of ILBS was built by the Public Works Department (PWD). The formal inauguratiion of the hospital took place on 14th January 2010 by the Chief Minister of Delhi, Mrs. Shiela Dixit.
ILBS is an education which is focuses on Liver and Biliary Sciences, however, Nephrology an imporant sister branch of the hospital. ILBS ranked 9th among medical colleges in India in 2026 by the National Institutional Ranking Framework medical ranking for 2026.
