About NARL:- Atmospheric Research Laboratory (NARL) is an autonomous Research Institute funded by the Department of Space of the Government of India. It was Established in the year 1992. Dr. A.K. Patra was the Director of NARL organisation. The Organisation was located at Gadanki, Andhra Pradesh. It was started as National Mesosphere-Stratosphere-Troposphere (MST) Radar Facility (NMRF). Over the years NARL also provides many Other facilities such as Lower Atmospheric wind profiler, Optical rain gauge, automated weather stations etc. On 22nd September 2005 the NMRF was expanded into research Institute and renamed as National Atmospheric Research Laboratory.
