National Centre for Sustainable Coastal Management (NCSCM) is a research institute under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India. It was established in the year 2011. It was with a vision to manage the Indian Coast in a sustainable manner. It was located at Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
It would promote integrated and sustainable management of coastal and marine areas in India and advise the Union and States/ Union Territory Governments and other associated stakeholders on policy, and scientific matters relating to Integrated Coastal Management (ICZM).
The newly constructed building of NCSCM was inaugurated by Honourable Minister Dr. harsh Vardhan on 15th July 2024. Fourteen institutions from coastal states have formed a consortium with NCSCM and signed the Anna University Declaration on 21st June 2010.
