Eligibility Criteria &Educational Qualification for IAS:- 

All the candidates have to fulfill the eligibility criteria which is set by the authorities to take the exam. The eligibility Parameters, which are set on the basis of the Age limit, Educational Qualifications and the NUmber of Attempts and the Physical standards. Here we are mentioning the IAS Exam Eligibility Criteria:

Age Limit:-

  • The minimum age for the IAS Exam 2019 is 21 years as in 01-Aug-2019, while the maximum age limit is 32 years.
  • And there is the Maximum age relaxation for the reserved category candidates.

Educational Qualifications:

The Applicants must have a graduate degree (or) equivalent qualification from a recognized university.

Number of Attempts:-

There is only Six attempts are allowed for a candidate to clear IAS Exam 2019.

Fees:-

INR 100 must be submitted via Pay-in-slip which must be downloaded from the application portal

Details Regarding an Application form:- 

It is an online mode of registration, the candidates who are interested can fill the application form of the exam on the official website upsconline.nic.in. It is only possible online from 07-Feb-2019. The candidates who clear the Preliminary Exam have to apply for the Main Exam Separately.

Syllabus of IAS 2019:-

Here the IAS Syllabus is decided by the Union Public Service Commission(UPSC) Each Year. Each Stage in IAS Exam has Different Syllabus.

  • IAS Syllabus for Prelims evaluates a candidate’s knowledge and aptitude in current affairs.
  • IAS Syllabus for Mains assesses a candidate’s academic expertise in his specialized subject. It also tests his ability to present knowledge in a clear and coherent manner and his overall intellectual traits and understanding of concepts. 
  • The prelims section of IAS Exam 2019 covers questions from History, Polity, Geography and Agriculture, Science and Technology, Ecology and Environment, Economics, Arts and Culture, Social Welfare and GK. 
  • The scope of IAS Syllabus for Mains section as optional subject papers (Paper VI and Paper VII) for the examination is broad of the honors degree level.
  • In the case of Engineering, Medical Science and law, the level corresponds to the bachelors’ degree.

Syllabus for Prelims:-

  • It is the first stage for the candidate must clear to qualify for the Mains Exam.
  • Marks which are scored in the IAS Prelims will not be considered as the final Merit List, they should serve as a Screening test only.
  • Here in this Preliminary Stage of IAS has two papers, i.e: General Ability Test(Paper 1) and the Civil Service Aptitude Test(Paper 2).
